By far the most sought after and popular was and still is the 1969 to 1972 chevy pick up. There are more of those still on the road and off road than any other made truck in the USA. And in the 3/4 ton model you have the HO-52 rear end. Of which many came with a detroit locker(posi). And in the 4 wheel drive model you had the dana 44 front end with dana spicer lock out hubs of which were and are pretty much bullet proof. Unlike the lock out hubs of today.

I'm gonna say anything made by International, thick gauge steel bodies, bullet proof torquey engines, never break but are butt *** ugly, for a truck being made today, probably Dodge rams with the Cummins, powerstrokes are ok but they have some injector problems, and the duramax sucks.

For my money in the pickup truck class it has to be the Super Duty F350 Series Ford Truck with the 6.0 Power Stroke Diesel.

I have a Ford, its been go so far. If I could buy another truck it would be a Nissan or Toyota.

59 Chevy step side. I ran my into the ground. It could get out of any hole I put it in and it could hold in its bed twice its weight. I loved that truck.

I have driven and owned all of the big 3.... so IMO I would say.... Dodge then Ford then a far distant 3rd..... Chevy.
