I have created an intranet at work and it is located on one of our servers. I would like to try to get google search incorporated into it, but I am not sure how to go about it. For starters, can google search even work with a server that is not connected to the internet?

If they are local files, I wouldn't see why not.

However, I would strongly suggest Windows Desktop Search. It's only used for local files and integrates better with the O/S. Works much better than anything Google can dream of, in my opi nion.

Google has business solutions. You can purchase a server from them to incorporate into your network. As long as you are connected to your INTRAnet, you can search on the network.

I think Google Desktop lets you search on network drives too (i think).

On google.com, go to business solutions.
