Broan says they do not have an s80u. Your building code requires bath fans when there is no window. The capacity of the fan is determined by the size of the bathroom. Check the owner's manual to see if perhaps the fan capacity is greater than required. If so, use this to try to convince the inspector that the long run is OK.

I am sure he feels that length will cause condensation to happen in the pippe and drip back into the fan
