Does anyone else's sims 2 game take forever to load ANYTHING?

It does at the moment as I have over 2 gigs of downloads but am hoping to clean those out before Season is released.
Try making sure you have no other programs running in the background like msn or yahoo messenger, widgets etc.
and if your like me and have tons of downloads - maybe its time to clean it out and keep only those you can't live with out. Also make sure if you have hacks - make sure you have the last one for your lastest expansion pack.
