although i'm still a student, miss melanie , yet i'll answer ur question from wht i usually do in college.
We grow up in homes, with certain attitudes, certain beliefs and certain behaviours that our family are used to.
When we begin to go out we change due to what we see and experience in our daily lives.
We make friends and begin to know new people. Each and every person we meet, we treat them according to the way they treat us or according to the way they react.
I mean, each person we meet is different from another one we meet. So, according to what we see from these people we deal with them.
When I go to college, I am a different person from who I am at home. Because I meet new people, some I know well, some I hardly know and some are my best friends, we understand each other before we speak and we love, respect and adore each other. I believe jobs are the same.
If you are talking about attitudes then this is the answer. Do you want to know why when we come from work we are nervous, tired, that's because we are pressed so much and we have so much to do.
Work and loads of work at our jobs and sleepiness and tiredness at home, so we're different.
Note: OUr behaviour depends upon the place we are in and the people we deal with.

I am a completly different person at my job than I am at home. At my job, i'm more focused. At home, i can go back to being my stupid self. I am a security guard so i can be myself at work, but to a certian extent.

I tone down the wit and wisdom at work. I don't want to get fired for having ideas or brains. The more they think I don't have a brain, the less they expect of me.

absolutely not.
i work directly with the public. it's very much like being in a play. i have to deal with mindless morons who hit on me repeatedly and i get paid to be nice to them, so that's what i do, although in real life i would be pretty mean to most of the idiots i deal with.

no, i'm not. I can be the nicest person at my job and able to listen to anyone's arguements or complaints, but at home, i hate to be bothered.
