Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on
a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go
to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches
the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water. After a while,
another monkey makes an attempt with the same result - all the other monkeys
are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb
the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it. Now, put away the cold
water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The
new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise
and horror, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and
attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted.
Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new
one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer
takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third
original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time
the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked. Most of the monkeys
that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the
stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.
After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have
ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again
approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as
they know that's the way it's always been done around here. And that, my
fellow monkey, is how policy begins.

It is because in our mind we think: "Why didn't I think of that?" Then, we feel jealous because someone has a really interesting ambition that we don't have. Then, we say that it is impossible or crazy out of our jealousy. This sometimes makes the person disheartened, and deep inside we feel the satisfaction that that person failed just like we did at finding an ambition.

in normal case, a ordinary human tries to find out a way to make money, and it feels that it can buy materials to lead his life. commercials will tell them a lot to sell their product to it. there are only a few who has goal, ambition etc.
strange for a normal human being. when it cannot even imagine the goals and ambitions you are talking about what else can it say to you.
do not bother, be ambitious, have a goal. when you achieve, the same human being will not have face to see or talk a word to you, all the best

Yes but I don't mind, if they can't accept an idea from me, I'll do everything possible to launch it.
An example : I want next year to work in Africa for a few months, building schools, churches and teaching children. My friends, my family and my girlfriend don't understand me, I can't rely on them to help this project, so I sent many mails asking people I know if they would like to participate, the main thing preventing me to do it is money. I received already some positive answers, from people I don't even know as the mail has been going from one box to another. I'll see if it will be sufficient for next year but if I can show I've got many people supporting me, I'm pretty sure my friends and family will help too.

Maybe you're just surrounded by some very negative people - or your ideas truly are impossible and everyone but you can see that.
My experience is that most people are both interested and positive concerning the ideas and ambitions of others.

A question I've asked often.
The result of petty jealousy and a small mind. Some folks can't move "up" in life unless they're stepping on someone else's dreams.

For too many of us, it's human nature and/or jealousy to try to kill the ambitions of others. The old joke about the can of worms or crabs illustrates it well. When one worm or crab tries to crawl out of the can, the others pull him/her back into the can.

Its a point of jealousy, we hate to see some one getting the good out of life and we getting the bad, but the truth is they might of been through their share of bad days or they could be buying their luck....don't worry though these people will have a bad dousing af karma ahead of them

In todays world people like to see other people fail. They even find humor in it. When you have an idea that they don't they get jealous of your intuition. People don't care about people as much as they used to. The whole world is full of me, myself, & I people. I experience it a lot wherever I go.
