How to invest in Pre IPO companies

A Pre IPO company is a private organization - they may or may not allow investors. In any event, when the company issues stock through an IPO, even if you did invest in the company, there is no obligation for the company to give you stock. They would simply buy you out (probably much less expensive than giving you company public stock)

you definately can invest in a pre IPO company. It can be a variety of things such as venture capital, angel capital, convertable debt, notes, etc. The first person to answer is pretty much correct. But, i'm working on a venture fund, and i'm on the yahoo answers board.
