Yes they should!!! Shopping is stressful enough without this distraction for kids..I don't care what 'True Dat' says...she obviously hasn't got any kids....MY kids ARE well disciplined and DO know their manners....but ALL kids can 'play up' and putting sweets by the tills is irresponsible of shop owners.

In an ideal world, yes. But supermarkets exist to make money and those tantalizing treats become impulse purchases by the consumers.

When I worked for a local retailer, I learned that consumers often make an average of $20 in impulse purchases on top of whatever items they initially planned to buy. Every display in a store is specifically designed to gain that additional $20 from as many consumers as possible.

No. What you eat is a choice. If it disrupts the kids, then they need better discipline. If they get whiney, you tell them no, and leave.
