I just moved to pa, 7 months ago. When I lived in new york I had a career in a hospital for almost 4 years as a nurse assistant. Now in the past 7 months in PA. I've gone through 3 jobs and wasn't happy with any of them. I had a job in a assisted living, didn't pay me enough for what they wanted us aids to do. In fact we where getting paid less there at the assisted living then my second job at a hotel and at the assisted living I was doing a lot more for the elderly then I was doing for anyone at the hotel. I had to leave the hotel after 3 months for discrimination they did to me. Last job was a waitress for 1 week, The manger had me going home in tears every night. I've filled out more applications then I can count. I have experience in Nurse's assistant, customer service, retail and I've even tried to get a cookbook published.....nothing. Any suggestions

Just have to stick to it. I work as a head hunter for an HR search firm. One thing I see is persistence pays off. But also you have to be weary of building up a string of short term jobs. No one wants to hire a job-hopper. But so far it sounds like you have good reasons for leaving your recent jobs. You might want to look at the job postings on Craigslist.com for your area. Lots of smaller companies post on there because it is free, but there is a lot of crap too so you have to be willing to sift through it.

I have a great career right from my own home. I was in a crazy situation where my boss fired me and left me high and dry. I live in a very remote place way up in the mountains and it would have been hard to find another job. I looked for something online and finally found my dream job, although in the medical field it was something that needed no experience and gave me and my family benefits and an introduction to my great career. My company is a BBB member and has been in business 15 years. I knew it was a good company because of the BBB. None of the others are there. I can give further info if you are interested.
