This is NOT an attempt to "silence Rush Limbaugh".
He's not the only Pompous Right Wing *** with the blood of US Soldiers on their hands. They helped bring about this Invasion(remember Robert Novak aiding and abetting Scooter Libby in revealing Valerie Plame's name).
What is being proposed is a return to the Fairness Doctrine which makes equal time for opposing points of view a requirement for any FCC licensee. Prior to 1987, this was the law. And it was designed to prevent what we have now. Talking Points, Bad Research, and logical fallacies being aired by pundits and "experts" with no counterbalance.They even tell the suckers listening to them that you are hearing Fair and Balanced coverage when you are hearing Opinion and Bad Bad Bad journalism.
It's not against Rush "drug addict and hypocrite" Limbaugh as much as it is making these forces that are directly responsible for the Iraq invasion and occupation responsible for their actions and stopping them before they kill again.
By the way this would apply to Air America as well, so stop your whining.

I guess I just don't understand why people follow pundits on either side. On most of the important issues there ARE ascertainable facts and it's not difficult to research them on-line. Sometimes some people play games with the facts and try to argue something that's the opposite of what's really going on - what Krugman does with the income stats is akin to looking at a growing height differential between 1st and 5th graders and concluding not that nutrition and exercise are resulting in bigger, strong kids but that someone in the first grade today actually has a DECLINING chance of becoming tall...... But if you do enough research you can see what's being done.
Why go to a pundit or any non-expert on any issue (e.g., going to CNN for understanding of economic issues when CNBC and Bloomberg are right there and typically saying something else).

I hope he doesn's silence Rush. Rush has done more for liberals than anyone else in the last ten years. Once people who are undecided here him spewing his hate, they automatically gravitate towards the Democratic party.

Rush Limbaugh should have been silenced 15 years ago! When I first heard him I realized how harmful he would be to this country. With his spewing of lies and misinformation, he and his types have created a harmful division in this country that will take generation to heal. Rush Limbaugh should be ashamed of himself for creating harmful divisions among Americans!

I think everyone gets tired of the neighbor's dog barking all the time, Something about the "same ole ,same ole" that's annoying,to say the least...Perhaps if there was something to actually be barking at,rather than simply making noises, You just keep waiting for the owners to yell out..."SHUT UP ", but it never comes
