How far away do you have to be for the shot to be a 3 pointer?
The distance from the basket would be 100*sin(140)/9.8=6.5 meters...but I dont know if this is far away enough to be considered a 3 pointer.

First thing you have to do is split the velocity into horizontal and vertical components, by using trig functions.

Imagine a right angled triangle. The 10m/s means the hypotenuse is 10. With one angle that you know (70 between the hypotenuse and the horizontal) you can now work out the length of the other two sides.

Knowing the initial vertical velocity, the final vertical velocity (0) and the acceleration (-9.81 due to gravity)

v = u + at

Plug in the figures to work out the time the ball was rising. The ball will travel down accelerating at the same rate, so the total time travelled (rising and falling) will be 2t.

Now you know the time the ball was in flight for, and the horizontal velocity (it will be a constant, calculated from the trig at the beginning of the answer) you can calculate how far the ball travelled, and so how far away from the hoop the ball was thrown from.

Comparing this to the three point arc on the basketball court will give you your answer

I calculated that he is 8.94 m away from the basket. The three-point line in the NBA is 7.23 m from the basket. So he would have put the team ahead.

On second thought, 6.5 meters could be correct making it a tie game.

Depends on pro, college, or international. In college, 6.5 meters is a three pointer. In the NBA, tie game baby. Not sure about international

unlawful immigration reasons many problems that's for particular. it quite is an straightforward actuality. Given your estimate of 20 million illegals enable's proceed from there. enable's say even a million/3 of them are conserving jobs. that's extremely almost 7 million human beings in the artwork rigidity. Contributing to the tax base etc. that could depart 7 million interest vacancies. could our usa have the flexibility to handle that many leaving the artwork rigidity? probable no longer. could individuals step into those jobs for the pay provided? probable no longer. companies base line is earnings. could they develop wages to get individuals to artwork those jobs? probable no longer. greater companies could start to outsource. subsequently leaving many individuals out of jobs that now carry jobs. Our entire usa could fall down and the large melancholy could appear like a cakewalk. As i've got mentioned unlawful immigration is faulty and needs to end. yet we additionally might desire to be sensible on deporting as you assert 20 million human beings. have faith me...that's not going to ensue for a number of motives. So we would desire to circulate forward and think of of sensible approaches to handle the area to hand and additionally insure the unlawful concern is stemmed sooner or later. greater valuable border protection and visa structures might desire to be dealt with first and optimal so the area would not gradually worsen. as quickly as the flow is stopped we are able to then artwork on what to do with those already right here.
