We are having a super bowl party. Everyone that is coming will smoke, so we are talking 6 or 7 hours of smoking in the house. How do I get the smoke smell out once they are gone. Or how can I keep it minimized why they are there?

place shallow bowls of white vinegar around your house. The vinegar will absorb the odor from the cigarette smoke~

You can go to most local stores; Walmart, Walgreens and purchase an air filtration system. Smaller ones are on the market at about $10.+/-. I used to have one. This draws in the smoke cleaning the air, minimizing the smoke smell. There are also ashtrays which do the same thing. They are battery operated and suck in the smoke while the cigarette is sitting in the tray. After the party, if you put out small dishes of vinegar, this also absorbs the cigarette smoke.

My question, why are you allowing all of these people to smoke in your home? We have friends and family that smoke as well, they have not a problem going outside to smoke. (We live in Wisconsin...It isn't warm in the winter!) Your friends should be respecting YOUR home. If you don't allow smoking indoors, than there is no smoking indoors. You are going through more trouble than it's worth. We smoked in doors until we bought our last home, you wouldn't believe the difference in how much cleaner everything is without the cigarette crap stuck to everything.

Between, you me and the rest of the world, no matter how much you try to prevent the cigarette smoke from getting so thick while company is over, you will not get the smell totally out.

Personally, I wouldn't permit smoking in my home. You have the right to enjoy a pleasant smelling home. If you don't wish to banish smokers, you could find smokeless ashtrays (if they still make those), if they even work. You could also set out boxes of Arm & Hammer baking soda (they now make a vented box which isn't for cooking but aimed specifically at odor removal.) Also, years ago when my mom forgot to open the fireplace flue, our home filled with smoke. To get rid of the smoke smell, she set out these coffee filters which were filled with coffee and sealed ( bought that way. ) Not sure if they still make them.

Open a window or two as people smoke, if you can and encourage them to direct their smoke out the window. Good luck!

I have found a good way to minimise people smoking in your house for a gathering is to set up a smoking section somewhere outside. If you or anyone else in your household smokes just make sure you all smoke outside as soon as any guests arrive. Make sure you have plenty of available ashtrays in view so their is no confusion.

If that doesnt work, and you have a household full of people smoking all night....there are many products out there that are designed to eliminate tobacco odour. Also a great product called Febreeze works wonders on furniture and curtains.

I hope it all goes well for you and some of my suggestions help!

First off........do you smoke? If not I wouldn't permit it in my home. Years ago when smoking was the cool thing to do......when my hubby had the boys over.......I would put a pot of vinegar on the stove and let it simmer.......seems to cut the smoke smell.........then if you can.......the next day.....open the windows.....the smell might be gone, but the remnents of the smoke will still be there........ceilings will have nicotine stains.......ask them politely to go outside and smoke..............its healthier that way for everyone.......Have Fun

I recommend an Ionizer. We use them to get rid of the smoke smell in the Hotel Rooms where I work. They work wonders.
