The diary is a collection of personal thoughts that the writer intends to read themselves only. The intent of the writer in a blog is to have other people read it.

Apply the golden rule, would you like it if someone read you're diary, same question for a blog. I agree with the answers above, a blog is public, a diary is private. Thanks for your time.

A blog is published... made public by the act of putting it on a website.

Would you ask why it was not OK to read someone's letters to their partner when it's OK to read a newspaper? Same idea, one is someone's private correspondence and one is public information.

I diary is private property. I mean it's like let's say you had one and you were writing about somethings you wouldn't want your best friend to even know, and you tell her everyhting about you, well if someone reads your diary, wouldnt you be upset. Then whoever reads it might spread nasty rumors about you that aren't even true. So that's why it's worng, because it is private and sacred property and should only be read by the writer.

Because a diary is private. And a blog is public.

If anyone gripes at you for reading a blog, then they are idiots.

a blog is like a journal, they dont care what they put in it, a diary is a list of personal thoughts and feelings, did that help any?

there's nothing wrong in reading someone's diary if you don't like them.think about this:the main reason that people will practically kill you if you read their diary is just the thought that someone knows their secrets 'cause that thought stays stuck in their head. Those people who got their diary read are just scared that their innermost feelings will be exposed.Don't read your friend's diary.I'm only teling this to you because if they find out, they will feel like they have no trust in you or that they can't trust you any more.

Hi there,

Ummmmmm I think everyone answered your question
But let me add one more thing . . .
When someone read your diary he knows who you are
But when someone read your blog
he don’t know who you are unless you told him
And I agree with everyone when we right something in the blog you know that every one can read it and you chose that . .

Regards,
