hey all! i am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and started bleeding yesterday. at first it was brown in color and then turned into red. i went to my midwife...my cervix was closed and we did a sonogram showing the baby and it's heartbeat...all was well but still bleeding. i went home and rested, bleeding stopped for about 6 hrs, then around midnight i got up to pee (which i do a lot of now) and noticed two small clots. they were about the size of a nickel but didn't seem like much to them, but it did freak me out. i called my midwife and she thought it was just old blood. i am scared i had a miscarriage. i have been experiencing cramping through my entire pregnancy thus far and i had some last night but nothing severe or out of the ordinary. i am continuing to cramp today but not a lot and my bleeding has turned to brown and light again. has this ever happened to anyone before. i wish i could get another sonogram...but now it is just a waiting game! i can't stand it....please help!

yes... twice...

the first time i started bleeding when i was 12 weeks along, started with a bit of spotting, but with lots of pain, then the bleed got heavier and heavier, then i literally lost my baby on the toilet, it was not very plesent but i can assure you that there was no doubt in my mind at the time that it was a miscarriage.

the second time, i started spotting, again at 12 weeks, then bleed like you would in a period... of course i paniced due to what had happened before, but took the stanse that there would be nothing i could do to stop the inevitable if it was to happen... so i carried on with my day, still bleeding... it stopped after about 8 hours, then i had a few spotting incidents for a couple of weeks after.... anyway... to cut it short... it has ended in a 4year old running around!!!

brown indicates taht it is "old" blood... red that it is "new" so wear a pad and keep an eye on the colour, if there are anymore clots or "red" blood call your midwife or get up to the hospital (maybe the best plan as there is more chance they will do an ultrasound)

really wish you all the best, take care of yourself and rest up, try not to worry, i know it is easy to say, but stressing yourself will only make it worse

good luck, keep us updated xxx
