I have a fancy dress party next saturday and no idea what to wear.
I need cheap and simple ideas.

Pirates are popular now, how about a lady pirate? If you have a pair of tall boots, black would be best, wear those with black leggings and a tunic shirt with a belt around your hips and a scarf or bandana around your head, with one hoop earring. The rest you can probably get at a party or costume store: an eye patch, a fake sword or knife, and maybe one of those pirate hats over the bandana.

Not to be recommended now a days, but many moons ago we discussed this in my local pub one lunch time session, my bright idea was to go that evening as a Rasta to the same pub.
My wife was not at all keen on the idea, (this was well before we had PC to worry about)
So full of this bright idea I got out the black boot polish, did my hands and face wore an old baggy blue sweater and a dyed black mop head on my head with a blue tea cosy partly covering it , I was ready, I thought I looked a treat. So back over the road to the pub, I was already drunk from the lunch time session!
To top it all I was the first one in and about 3 hours early.
My wife sent our two daughters out on a rescue mission to get me out of there.
They explained to me that I was far to early for this fancy dress do and invited me elsewhere for a drink, They drove me to some dimly lit club in town, and disappeared leaving me a pint on my table, pretty soon the lights came on , a guy came over to me and said, "sorry sir but I must ask you to leave, you are causing a disturbance"!!!
I started to debate the point , I informed him I had done nothing, I was here with my two daughters, Ipoined to where they had been sitting ! Gone! I looked around me they had dumped me in a Rasta club and cleared off. They were all glaring at me, my boot polish was starting to run, I was sweating and left like a bolt of lightning, the aforesaid Daughters kept well out of the way for a few days!
I also never won anything in that fancy dress competition!

well i reallllly dont have a good idea as i never really go to fancy dress parties...
you could go as a princess,it sounds lame but remember the film "cinderella story" ...?
i forgot the girls name but she goes to the fancy dress party dressed as a princess,wearing a white gown and a face mask which only covered her eyes....if you can arrange a gown or even a cute long dress you will rock in this!!
but then again it could happen that such things dont suit you...maybe you should choose something chic and trendy...i dont know your age but assuming it to be 14-17 i would suggest NOT going in a fruit or any funny character,guys can pull that off,girls cant!!!

I once cut a hole in the base and front of a small suitcase. slip over your head so your face shows and go as a headcase,the beauty of this fancy dress is that you can carry it to and from the party.Best of luck with it

I knew 2 guys who went as the men on the traffic lights once! They just dressed up in red and green clothes.

a tart, rip up old skirts make them really short and rip up tops to make them look low cut, high heels cheap ones in newlook and primark, tons of make up.
Wear a dress you have in cupboard and go as royalty or something.
Fairy go hunting for family friends for wings and wands and wear fairy things in your closet.
