not necessarily for the cold symptoms but if they have junk coming out of their eyes, they might have eye infections or have spread their cold germs into their eyes.
With the colds I was always on the phone to my dr until she told me, what to look out for is wheezing, labored breathing (when you lay them flat and their belly is moving up and down in an effort to get air) HIGH FEVER or dehydration. The best you can do for colds at that age is saline drops, a humidifier in the room, and plenty of fluids. I know, it's no fun.

Awww, poor babies. You could take them to the dr., but my guess is that all he/she'll tell you is to comfort them and give them Tylenol if they should get a fever. You could use this stuff called Little Noses, and it's a saline solution. Spray a few drops in their little noses, and use your nose bulb to get the boogers out so they can breathe. They'll put up a horrible fight to keep you out of their noses, but they'll appreciate it once they realize they can breathe. Also, you can get a humidifier from Wal-Mart or K-Mart, or even Walgreens. Make sure it's a cool mist humidifier, so there'll be less bacteria in the air. The humidifiers are fairly cheap. Keep them hydrated and comforted until the colds pass. That's pretty much what they're gonna tell you, because babies can't have cough medicine. But if you'd like peace of mind, then it's never a waste of time to hear what a doctor has to say.

I would call the doctor for sure, the cough is what would worry me the most,is it a dry cough or is it a flemmy cough? If it is a real flemmy cough I would be concerned about it being RSV.My 5 month old son has all the same symtoms right now and my ped told me to use the saline drops in his nose, have a humidifier going in his room at night and to prop up the top end of his crib so he sleeps on a bit of and angle, this helps with his breathing and helps the boogers from going right down the back of his throat. The eye boogers my doctor was going to give me a prescription for eye drops but they cleared up in one day, just keep them wiped clean.
good luck x2!

my youngest son had the eye boogers, i was told to use a clean wash cloth each time, soak it in warm water and place on each eye to soften and remove the eye boogers. There really isn't anything the dr. can do for your little ones, you just have to let the cold run it's course. As long as they don't start running a fever ( 101 degree) If you are still concerned you can call and talk with a nurse, just to cover your bases on medication and dosage since they are so little, Blessings to you and your little ones, i know it is stressful on mommys when our little ones are under the weather for you its X2.

Other than pink eye, it could be a clogged tear duct. My son had clogged tear ducts at this age, and it cleared up after a few months. Just wipe away the gunk with a baby washcloth and warm water. don't use the same washcloth on both eyes, just in case it is pinkeye (or you'll spread it to the other eye). I also have experience with pink eye. Pink eye tends to have more redness and crusty gunk, and is highly contagious (wash your hands frequently and keep them away from your own eyes). Good to get it checked out by your pediatrician, so you'll know for sure. If it is pink eye, they will give you antibiotic eye drops.

I honestly would take them to the doctors or at least call the doctors and make them aware of what is going on with the babies. Their immune systems are nothing like ours and with the way the climate is changing you wanna be sure that they are just suffering from minor cold symptoms. Better to be safe than sorry!!

I'd keep them home unless they start running a fever or develop wet, heavy coughs or wheezing. If you're nervous or still unsure, call the doctor and ask a nurse at the office for advice. You'll at least feel reassured.

At three months old, I would at the very least call the doctor and ask if they want to see them. Good luck...I know one sick baby is really hard...I can't imagine two at a time!
