Possibly. It could also just be a harmless program that connects to the Internet automatically.

You can go into your dialup settings and tell it to never dial automatically and this won't happen.

I do not know what anti virus and anti spyware tools you have on your computer right now to keep it safe. But to be sure it is not a malware called a dialler . Download install and run spybot search and destroy .

I had the same problem with my computer until it crashed and die.Now I have an anti virus anti spy etc, program I run it at least once a day, no more ghosts since then.

this is spyware. A site you were on downloaded software had sypware attached to it. go to downloads.com and download an anti spyware program and run it. Someone is turning on your internet to take programs off of it. take care Heather

Probably it's a bad "thing"! Maybe it's an antivirus but I think it's something more evil. So, to prevent a high telephone bill from a dialer, search and find a good antispyware program and scan your disc(s).

Do u have its connection to dail up automatically when u log on? Just do system restore if u answerd no to the things.

possibly, but you could have set it to auto conect if it is poossible you should scan with trendmicro housecall hopefully it will go away here give it a try: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

i doubt either, you have the internet provider software starting when windows starts, IE: if you have AOL and you install it, by defalt it's going to start when windows start, just take it out of start up menu..
