I am going in tomorrow for a 20 week ultrasound, can anyone tell me what they will be looking at as far as the baby's health and the placenta and cord and all of that?? ( I already found out it's a boy by an earlier u/s at 17 weeks)

They will check the anatomy (spine, kidneys, bladder, length of legs, circumference of head, etc.) They will look for spinal bifida and check that the heart has 4 chambers. They will check to see how long your cervix is, where the placenta is located and if all your baby's insides have gone back inside his belly. It is so cool to see your little baby inside. Good luck

They will measure almost all of the baby's bones (legs, arms, etc.) to make sure they are the proper length/size. They measure the amniotic fluid and check the placenta. They also check the baby's organs to make sure they are functioning correctly and the blood is flowing correctly.
Just a Warning: They want you to have a full bladder when you go in...

The will make sure the placenta is not near or over your cervix and they will check and make sure the heart has 4 chambers and eveyr body part is there and thta it is growing properly, not much different than your 17 weeks ultrasound

They will just be looking to make sure that everything is growing correctly and that the placenta is healthy. Congratulations!!!

i know they check the levels of amniotic fluid. they'll check the baby's head circumference.

they will be seeing how big the baby is to see if you are as far along as you think.
