I am not arguing the good and bad side - just answer YES or NO -

as for me, I recently used the word before a Black guy who was acting on my nerves - he was offended a lot, but we later shook hands over it so what I mean to say - too much ado about one thing - it's only a word Goddamnit - people need not be sensitive to its usage.

No! Black people use it so much it sickens me. I have been called a N***** by a pissed off black person and God was he embarrassed afterwards

The Black stance that they are allowed to call each other that, but no one else can is SO hypocritical and a double-standard and racist and so reverse discriminatory that it is disgusting to the point of laughter

If they don't want the word, then don't use it in every other sentence and it will die a slow death, but they shouldn't wear it as a badge of pride and expect it to disappear from everyone else but them. Its classic for a self fulfilling prophesy. If it is ever used by a white, then they are racist, but it is OK for us to use. What Bullshi*.

Aren't you tired of the Double-Standard yet? The same one that lets OJ get away with homicide because, Mark Fuhrman used the N word? Come on !

I'm not White, but would like to put in my 2 cents. First of all the word "ni**er" in old time meant "ignorant" which means "not knowing", now who was it that changed, or even had the authority to change the definition to something totally and completly offensive to one particular race? For example, the gay society took God's promise of the rainbow and turned it into their "symbol" for gay pride! Are you serious?! It's not so much the people who use or don't use the word, it's the way a person takes it. Let it be arbitrary like the "sticking up of the middle finger." When God created man, he created man and woman He didn't specify, black, white, green, or purple. It's the ignorance of society, and lack of education that causes people to be upset and irritated by the word "ni**er." I know who I am, I know what I'm worth, I'm confident in all I do. When people confuse your name with something other than your name, that's their insecurity. Don't take it to heart, know who you are, and be confident in your value!

Heck no!! They're liable to pull out a gun and shoot your butt for it or stab you or something. Why do they react like that anyways?? Even over small stuff. I'm referring mainly to the ghetto ones....there are a lot that have class and I would never dream of using that word to them because they actually act like a civilized person. The n-word is the same as white trash or whatever.....every race has the good, classy people and then n*ggers or white trash, etc....it's all about how you behave.

Read Randall Kennedy's book by that name and everyone will understand why it is so offensive. I never actually heard this word until I was about ten and just by the way it was being used I knew that it was evil. I have never used this word against another know full well the history behind it.

I have never used the word at all. It's not "only a word". It has a long history of racism, emotional hurt and physical pain associated with it. Words can have a lot of power and that's one that should not be used at all, without exception.

It's odd that people get offended by words. Curse words are really strange when you think about it. _ _ c k _ ou. Why should I be offended by those words? A middle finger? Why?

no, i have never used the "N" word, I know its offensive and it would cause more problems than its worth!! I just don't think it's fair to they can use it amongst themselves and its not big deal, but if anyone else says it, the whole world falls apart.

I called my buddy that one day, and he agreed that he was acting in a ********* way, he called me it the next week, because I was acting in a ********* way.
Look it up in an old dictionary, means lazy or lackadaisical.
