Do this:

Start > Run > type MSCONFIG
On the first tab you will see diagnostic start up. Click on that and restart your machine. That will only load the bear minimum of what needs to run. This should eliminate all programs running from the start that don't need to be. This will allow you to check for any spyware or programs that are eatting up all your resources. If you are getting the same problems while this is on then you might have RAM or CPU problems.

If everything starts running fine then you can go back to the MSCONFIG window and go to the Start-up Tab and start clicking boxes that have become unchecked. Don't do them all, phases them in. Something on that page might be interfering. If you don't know what it is then don't click it. If it became un-clicked when you did the diagnostic start up then it wasn't needed for your PC anyway. If you think it might be important you can search the internet for the name and one of the top few links on google or yahoo will be to a website explaining what it is and tell you if it is bad or not.

No.
If your CPU was faulty most times your would get a blue screen of death. If sounds like a process programme problem.
Call up the Task Manager and click on the processes tab look at the CPU tab in the windows (if this is not there click on view - select columns and check CPU usage is ticked). Click on CPU and that should give you what process is using your CPU.
I had this problem caused by iexplorer not shutting down properly.

Processor cannot be at fault. Its more likely that your computer has been hit by virus/trojan/spyware. Or another likely cause can be that you might be running a lot of programs at the startup. Do a virus scan and see the results. Also, try cleaning up by unchecking the startup items in msconfig. If it still doesn't help, contact your technician.

many things can cause this including viruses - make sure you have virus protection and that it is up tp date then do a scan...

just to make sure... also check whats running at the time as faulty programs can oftern cause the processor to max out.

one last thing is that if the processor is maxing out a little more ram may ease its work and is oftern cheeper to get.

hope it helps

no, if your processor was faulty you would either get a blue screen or no screen at all. I would suggest you check for spyware first, then viruses + trojans, then defrag your hard drive and check it for errors.

Thats where I would start anyway...
