I think that while the world has progressed (technologically speaking), it's put more of a divide between people. We're constantly multitasking, sending emails while we're on the phone, texting our friends while we're out with other friends, watching TV instead of talking with each other. I think people have lost a lot of connections over the years. Our society is very isolated especially with computers now we dont have to interact in realty that much. The breakdown of the family structure has also taken away that interaction as well as community based events which are built on families. There is a lot that needs to be changed into our society. A independent person is a nice thing but everyone needs support from time to time.

It is great that individuals can create relationship freely. Their is no force from the society anymore which would tell you who to marry, or what women or man should do in a marriage. Our happiness in relationship depends on our own will and our own ability to be creative, imaginative. And of course our own ability to negotiate with a partner!
