Kentucky Derby.
The Derby happens once a year, and Vegas is always there. If you do not go to the Derby this year, you will have to wait until next year.
I have been to Vegas many times and love it, but still feel the Derby would be more memorable.
If you do plan on the Derby, start planning now. Hotels and ticket are selling out fast.

Vegas baby! There are so many places that show the Kentucky derby and make a big event out of it that you can have the best of both worlds. Alot to do in Vegas. Only thing in Kentucky is the Derby. Have fun.

I've been to both, and Vegas is way better. Do you like to get dresses up, wear fancy hats, bet on horses, drink a little, see famous people, and take in the smell of manure, or do you like to go gambling, see famous people, see awesome shows, take in the smell of wealth and money, and dance the night away? I guess without realizing it, they both are kind of the same. One is more during the day, and the other is more of a night life kinda scene.
I lived in Kentucky for 3 years, and the derby is great, don't get me wrong, but my dad lives in Vegas, and it is amazing. It is a totally different world. Vegas is more high paced. You can see alot more there too. If you could, I would tell you to go to both places. I think everyone should see what Vegas has to offer, and go to the derby if funds allow it. Happy vacationing!

I would choose the Derby if you have the chance to go.....Vegas is always going to be there and the Derby is once a year. I have been to Vegas. I have been through Kentucky but not to the Derby. My parents used to go every year though when I was little and they loved it.

I live in Ky and have been to the Derby several times as well as Vegas. I think both are exciting but there is nothing like the Derby. But keep in Mind... It last for ONE day and unless you can some how get invitations to the pre and after parties you are going to be in Louisville KY for the next several days with very little to do. Not to say there is nothing to do but it's no Vegas. If you have any connections try really really hard to get an invite to the Madden party in Lexington the night before the Derby. That's were all the Stars go and it is a BLAST. Annetta Madden is known for her parties!!!!

I have been to Vegas and I say take her to Vegas. There is so much to do both for you and her. What is there to do after the Derby is over? Have fun and go to Vegas.

I have been to both. The Derby is overcrowded and over priced. The track is the dirtiest I have ever been to. Way too much hype, and you may not get to put in your bets, due to the lines of drunks. Go to Vegas. You will have a better time.
