I'm not sure what their policy is, but if you think that they charged you for one machine, and gave you another in the box for the one they sold you, I would immediately box it up, take it back - don't even talk to the return desk - ask for a manager.

Make sure you aren't talking out of your azz first though.

If you got it from the store, definitely box it up and take it back. You got something that isn't what you paid for. Demand a replacement that is the one you wanted, or tell them you want your money back. Make sure you take the receipt with you. It was THIER fault, so do not pay a fee. If they tell you there is a fee, tell them that you thought you were getting what was in the box and had no idea that it wasn't the right laptop, and you should not be penalized for something that was not your fault.

Where did you buy it?
Both online and from a shop if you have been given the wrong / false packaging you are entitled to a refund or new product.
It that happened to me I would refuse to pay a fee - it was someone fault.
