write letters, and phone sometimes,or even email,it will be OK at first as over the months you both will say ill never stop writing etc,
but you will after a while as you will both have your lives to get on with,
you will both think well i haven't heard from her for a while ,but you will think of each other from day to day,
you will say OH ill ring her tonight only to forget but it doesn't mean you are not friends anymore you will still be best mates but will have your own lives to run,as i am going through this at moment with my friend doesn't mean we are not mates,
i think of her loads, and in your case you are far apart.
but you will always be her closest friend,
start saving up and have your next holiday visiting her she will be chuffed to bits,
friends forever you will be nothing will break the bond between you.
good luck with what you decide to do to stay in contact with her xx

keep in touch with e-mail, letter writing, telephone calls or send cards. Having said that, do not be surprised if one of you or even both eventually make new friends and move on with your lives.

maybe, you will write letters, call each other, send e-mail.but be sure that it is going to finish one day...i have a friend.we are in the same city but our schools are different...in first months,we were always in touch but after a year we started not to call each other...be sure that same thing will be to your friendship, too.
