My 8 month old used to sleep through the night and now she is waking up almost 8 times a night!! She does not scream and she is not hungry. I usually go in and give her, her pacifier and sometimes she goes back to sleep sometimes she doesnt.
I also try giving her some juice and she takes a couple sips and goes back to sleep. I am so tired throughout the day by waking up 8 times a night and I will also be starting a new job soon.. Any suggestions????

Hi. Be really careful. I know you mean well (I did), but you could be "training" her to get up at night. I was frustrated that our 10 month old son was still getting up in the middle of the night so I asked our Pediatrician what he thought. He said I could be making it a habit for him to get up at night. After about 4 nights of letting him soothe himself back to sleep, he was sleeping about 8 hours at night.
Good Luck!

Get her on a scheduled nap time and bed time. Try giving her a baby massage and a bath right before bed. When she wakes up during the night just give her her pacifier and lay her back down. The more you talk to her and give her juice she will keep waking up for the fun time during the night. Also you could try a night light.

It's a developmental thing. All babies do it at around this age. It's very frustrating. Especially so if you're about to go back to work (which is quite normal at this stage too).

Check out Elizabeth Pantley's book, "The No Cry Sleep Solution" for info on sleep (not just for babies but for mums too) and also heaps of suggestions on how to get baby sleeping through again.
