It depends where you live in the world but a rough guide is
the Canada and the United States both have a 100 pounds in the hundredweight and 2000 pounds or 907.185 kilograms in the ton. In Britain, there are 112 pounds in the hundredweight and 2240 pounds or 1016.047 kilograms in the ton.
the metric tonne is 1000 Kilograms

The answer depends on your definition of a ton. You can have a short ton, a metric ton (or 'tonne') or a long ton - the long ton being the usual version unless specified otherwise.

There are 28.349 grams to one ounce, 16 ounces to the pound, thus 453.584 grams to one pound. Since 1 Kg= 1000g, we divide by 1000 to find 0.453584 Kg in 1 pound.

One short ton is 2000 pounds, thus 2000x0.453584=907.168 Kg in 1 short ton.

One metric ton is defined as 1000 Kg, so the answer there is 1000.

A long ton is 2240 pounds - and 2240x0.453584 = 1016.02816; so there are 1016.02816 Kg in a long ton.

Pick your ton, then you have your answer.

1000, but I thought a metric ton was written tonne, thus distinguishing from an imperial ton. Don't ask how many kg. in an imperial ton - no idea. I only have ten digits on my hands and I normally wear shoes.

US tons to kilograms, multiply by 907 so 1 ton x 907 = 907 kilograms per US ton.

Use a Unit Converter.
1 ton = 907.18474 kg
1 kg = 0.001102 tons
And for the people above.
1 ton is 1000 pounds, not kg, maybe.

A ton can either be 2,000 pounds (and then it is called a “short ton” and is equal to about 907.18 kilos), or it can be 2,240 pounds (and then it is called a “long ton” and is equal to about 1016.05 kilos).
