then through very high voltage lines (high voltage lines have less losses) to substations where the voltage is stepped down and the power is distributed down lower voltage lines (either above head or underground cables). Possible through multiple substations then down your street through a transformer box and into your house. It goes through a physical cable/wire all the way.
