empathy, you must be able to put yourself in the customers shoes. Sell to their needs not yours

Fearlessness- You will get rejected, get used to it. It is not personal

Tenacity- you must like to win and be willing to work twice as hard as the next guy.

Always strive for a win-win-win. You are looking for opportunities that are beneficial to the customer, your company and you personally.

Personable- It may not seem fair, but people buy from people they like. The dumbest thing I have ever heard any salesman say was "They don't have to like me, They just have to need what I am selling" big news flash here but people will not do business with you if they don't like you. They have too many other choices in todays business climate.

1. Ability to hold conversation. In my past sales experience, product was usually the 4th thing we talked about. And sometimes that took two weeks.

2. Listening. When you do present product/services, they should be aligned to key needs you have heard.

3. Humility. Learning you can't force anybody to do anything. Takes a great weight off your shoulders when you finally accept this.
