I am in cargo & transport.Recently the company is taken over TNT india Private limited.

I think the direct approach might be the best. Call them all together for a meeting if possible or send out a message stating the company is changing and changes will be happening then keep them updated. some will be able to handle the changes and accept and there will always be others that will not and will possibly fall to the side. Remember you will not be able to Force Everyone to accept this change no matter how hard you try.

I say "Gentleman, I have some bad knews. Some of you are losing your jobs. The rest of you will be getting paid less from now on. I, however, will be getting a huge raise and a corner office with a really nice view. Have a nice day." I usually make announcements like this just before Christmas vacation....so that the layoffs feel more like a vacation. Remember, it's important to be sensitive when making such announcements.
