Competition-- Depending on your line of work, you can have two or three teams compete for a specific objective with small monetary bonuses or rewards for reaching the goal first or giving an exceptional performance. Generally one or more team members may motivate other team members towards reaching the objective. A team competition may work better than a competition b/wn individuals as some may feel it a daunting task to compete with better-performing or harder-working co-workers.
Performance-based bonuses-- monetary bonuses based on an individual's performance from year to year, quarter to quarter, etc.
In either case, extra money or personal ownership is the best means of motivating people.

Rewards (Incentives) and Challenges
Reward positive performance with praise or give an extra 5 or ten minutes to their breaktime.
Make a challenge out of it: Guage one groups performance. Lets say group A loads 10 trucks beofre lunch. Write the number 10 in big numbers on the floor in chalk. When Group B asks about the number, tell them thats what group A accomplished, then ask them if they think they can beat that. You can bet they will try, ergo, your productivity goes up.

Lead by example. Show them how you want it done, and tell them that you believe they can do it too. Don't forget to give them kudos when they do achieve what you expected them to.
Sorry, i can't think of another
