Then we'll be forced to tailor our technology to take advantage of alternate energy sources. We still have solar energy, and wind turbine energy, wave turbine energy, hydrogen engine technology, nuclear energy, engines which run on alcohol from grain sources, vegetable oil as an engine fuel, etc, etc, etc. And these are ALREADY EXISTING technologies. We are not going to have to give up our cars, or live in a cold house anytime. If you are believing the propaganda put out by the oil companies, more fool you.

Not too much. Nothing is really going to happen until the sun goes out. Then this whole place turns into a frigid ball and probably only bacteria will be around. Only humans and some bacteria use petrol/coal to sustain themselves. If what you mean deals with life-style changes, then we'll probably have to make many. If we continue to allow the big oil companies to dictate national and economic policy then there will be serious disruptions. If we start making intelligent decisions by making wise consumer/energy purchases and seriously hold our government representatives responsible and accountable (an under-utilized concept apparently) there are plenty of alternative energy sources around. Many of these energy sources are renewable, environmentally friendly, and far cheaper...i.e. who counts the costs to health etc from pollution costs, corporate welfare, and mega-million payouts to oil company CEOs et. al in their calculations in making energy decisions.

Sorry but we will never run out . The first step is when plants take in CO2 and hold on to the C and give us back the O2. That is how Mother nature recycles our air. Now go back to the C ,as the plants take in more C and it is part of the food chain for the plants ,so they grow bigger ,and then comes winter and the leaves die and fall off and go down the river to the delta where they will deteriorate into fossil fuels.

We''ll use another natural resource or hopefully a vegitative source. They are already starting to look into burning corn for fuel. Some people use it to heat their homes. Not only is it easier to reproduce, it is cheaper. (at least I've hear it is)

although if we do use Nuclear power, it will run out in 30 years if all the world is dependent on it, and there is not enough power from the wind turbines , there too expensive to buy ,run, install. Not enough sun either to power by solar power. but they can make Bio-diesel from the waste of bacteria and they can burn wood to create energy, we might even have steamed powered cars. aha . Lol

Hopefully by then we will have stopped being dependent on fossil fuels. There are so many renewable resources available. Wind and sun are just two examples.
