The laptop was unhooked and moved down the hall the other day for about 20 minutes. The routers is about 40 feet away in another office. I did shut down the router; no storms though. I did reboot teh router this morning and am still getting a read of sometimes it's secure sometimes it's not. It does show secure sometimes just not all the time.

Thanks for your help.

Don't know why to be honest. I'm actually in a "Hotspot" (Lucky me) and i some times get the same, but can always connect regardless. So, like you, i hope someone can shed light on this.

you say no changes have been made, have you moved your laptop to a different location? where is your router compared to where your laptop is? try shutting down the router then bringing it back up. sometimes it just happens. did you have a storm roll through recently? sometimes that resets things. it could be a number of things. if you can't get it to show secure again, you might want to try resetting it. good luck!
