One thing that often bugs me is there are people who do evil & are really evil (often behind closed doors so no-one will know)but they don't worship the devil. In fact, they claim to be Godly.

Who are you addressing specifically?
Most people who are accused of worshipping the devil are wrongfully accused out of fear and ignorance. The only ones who worship the devil are Satanists and even then their idea of the devil is different than that of Christians.
Only Christians believe in hell. Thus there is no variations. You can't go somewhere you don't believe even exists. Not to mention, if it's heavenly, it can't be very hellish, can it? Thus the entire purpose is defeated.

The "devil" or satan is a Christian construct, put into place by the Church to do two things. One, to discourage the local pagan worshiping practices. The "devil" is comprised of several pagan deities, all jumbled together to form a scary monster. The twisting of these pagan Deities was supposed to scare the poor pagans into the churches and away from their gods.
Secondly, it was to provide scary stories that would threaten good Christian souls. Again, this was to keep the faithful in line and in the churches, placing their hard earnings into the collection plates.
So, basically, you have to be a Christian in order to believe in the devil, or Satan. This construct does not exist outside Christianity, and there fore only applies to Christians.
So, why would they worship the devil? Well, that is a matter of perspective. It is a balance, is it not? The God of Light and the God of Dark. The Christian mythology is a constant fight between good and evil, you need the opposite in order to maintain the balance, or the universe would flop over lopsided.
It is disobedience, revolt, or just plain disrespect. Anton LeVay showed in his version of Satanism that it's OK to believe in something else and you don't HAVE TO be a Christian.
As for what their reward might be? Your vision of "hell" is probably much different then theirs is, and as such, not valid. You need to learn that what you see is not what others see.
It is all relative to what we believe.

I've never heard of anyone who does worship the devil! He's a purely Christian idea for a start. Even so called Satanists don't worship the devil.

The devil is just another God who people choose to worship. He is NOT evil, he just has a different point of view from God. Heaven and hell don't exist so you don't go to either one. If you don't believe me then when you die think back to this question and you'll see that I was right.

People worship the devil because they want to rebel against anything God tells them, and no, you don't go to a "heavenly" hell, hell is pretty simple to explain... you see God comes, take the righteous up to heaven, then he's going to pretty much incinerate the world, people aren't going to burn for years, they're just going to die. Simple as that.

I am a big fan of the Adversary... though I do not worship, nor do I worship the object of the Zealot... there is no Hell... nor Heaven... merely an Ocean and Land and Sky and the Space Betwixt.

People worship the Devil because they want power, not realising that the pursuit of power ultimately renders them totally powerless, not least because they end up as the Devil's catspaw.

read you bible and you will see that hell and every thing in it will be cast into the lake of fire.
so hell is a place that you go if you are filled with unforgiven sin . this dose not mean that you will not go to heaven just means that's where you go to wait to be judged if have Jesus you still have a chance to be saved if you keep your faith in him.
so to answer your question . hell is a place of torment no good place their .
and no this if you chose to worship the devil . then you have con fest their is a GOD and you are truly evil. weather their is a GOD or not you have chosen bad over good

well the devil's worship should be the opposite of any worship.
in essence, complete free will.
the devil used to be an angel, the bearer of light, the most beautyfull of all and very proud.
so proud he defied god itself and fell to his damnation.
if the devil's worship teaches anything, i think it would be rebellion and the hell with it.
