Depends on your body and when the baby wants to come out you could wait another hour, hours, or days, but You'll know when its time... good luck!!

Well, everyone is different. Sometimes women dilate slowly at the onset of labour, and will be in that stage for about a day or two, providing the child is in no danger, and without warning they'll go from a 2 to a 10 in minutes. If you're 70-80% effaced, then you should be more than 2cm dilated. If you want to speed the process along, as a all-natural stimulate, drinking a small bottle of Castor Oil. Before drinking it, put on a pot with water and allow to boil to the hottest temperature that you can withstand. Pour that water into a bucket, drink the oil, and sit over the bucket and allow the steam from the water to soften all membranes of the cervix, that will cause the mucus plug to come out and you can almost time yourself, an hour, maybe two maximum, and you'll be a new Mom.

assuming you are a first time pregnant...? then unhappily... the people here telling you two weeks are porbably correct.. but? might be wrong... there is no set in stone "things that happen" time frame... unfortunately.... you can walk around 100% effaced three centimeters and station for weeks? they float anywhere from plus 4 to negative.... which is more uncomfortable because the baby is low (how low? it only goes to negative 4 and baby is crowned)
but on the plus side? if you are that far into it now? whether you go to the hospital tonight, or three weeks you are closer than most to having your baby....
I am not a good example! even with number six, I went from centimeters almost 100% to zero, high, no effacement... every night.... without the baby's head pushing down on the cervix, mine just closed right back up tight..... and, I know you are feeling discouraged and tired and want it over... that is a good sign!
when you feel like you can't take one more minute.... and none of the "just hang in there, it's almost over" help any, but make you want to cry instead.... when you want to throttle the person that innocently says "you're still here...?" and "you haven't had that baby yet?!" then? you really are almost there.... that is when you should clean out your fridge, scrub floors, rearrange closets... take the long walks... and eat spicy foods (I always want the seven layer mexican dip with chips.... lol) two reasons; it helps to pass time, or keep your mind from obsessing over "when and how much longer" just go till you are tired.... then rest, relax and indulge in little and start all over.... the more you can keep on your feet doing activities? the better for the baby to come low (I know... baby is.... ) but the pressure does help to dilate... IF, that hated magic word in pregnancy?! if the baby is ready....
I know it is not a lot of help... but once this is over? you will understand... there really is no other help... we are not in control of this ride... the baby and body do not let us in on "the plan" but it is worth it... and it can not go on forever.... you have "x" amount of time.. and the longest wait? that is when we "should" count on labor... less disappointing... you really are almost there.... and even though it is a tired out things to say? best thing you can do... keep busy! good luck god bless congrats!!

This is a question that is impossible to answer. Even your doctor could not answer this question. With my second pregnancy I was exactly where you are for a month before I finally went into labor. It literally felt like the baby sat down before I did she was so low, and I could never sit like I normally do, I sat more like a trucker. On the up side, that was my easiest delivery, I didn't even know I was in labor, my aunt forced me to go get checked and I delivered 2 hours later, with one push. My advice is be patient, it could take up to five more weeks, although that is highly unlikely. My doctor kept asking me why I kept showing up at my appointments lol She swore every time she checked me and felt the baby's head right there that she wouldn't see me the next week, but there I was. I wasn't happy about it and my hubs refused to have anything to do with sex, but there we were. Take this time to make sure you have everything together that you will need, diapers by the baby's bed as well as clothes and everything. I'm sure your bag has been packed for weeks lol. It is boring and frustrating, but remember the more bored and frustrated you are the more ready you will be for labor. Also, sleep as much as you possibly can right now, you're going to dream of these days in a few weeks when you cant snatch more than a cat nap at a time lol. Good Luck

I wish it were so easy to predict labor. My job would be much easier. There's no way to predict when you will go into labor.

You're at a great starting point, but still a little early to induce. It may still be a while, or it could be anyday. There's just no way to know. People walk around 4 and 5 cm dilitated all the time. It's okay. Labor is nicer if it happens naturally.

It could be days or weeks depending on when the baby becomes fully engaged (0 station). You can try doing squats to help move things along if you would like. Hold the squat until you feel pressure and push down. Best of luck.

Hi, you can try eating as much as you can. Heard it induces birthing. My sister in law was overdue 2 weeks and she was told to eat as much as she can and she did. Her baby was born the next day. The water level was low and the baby came out looking wrinkled and skin looks peeling. But baby is healthy and the skin peeling was gone in about a week. So... eat, sleep and eat. That way, you are properly rested for birthing. Good luck!

It's hard to say. Could be 1 week or 2 days or even 2 weeks!!!! Hang in there and you'll have the baby soon!

I was 3 cm with my second child for nearly 2 wks. My daughter swears by Castor oil! But if the baby is not quite ready, you could just end up sitting on the toilet all day!
