I'm 17 weeks pregnant. When I touch my stomach to feel my uterus sometimes it a little painful. Not like a peircing pain, but a "tenderness" pain. It feels llike my uterus is very tender. Why is this and is it normal? Did you experience this at all?

If you think that your uterus is constantly stretching beyond the size it has ever been before - it's like stretching a muscle that has never been stretched. It will be tender.

Your baby does not stop growing - ever! So the fact that it's constantly growing, means your uterus is constantly stretching to accommodate.

I'm 21 weeks now and I remember telling my doctor at my last appointment that I was feeling tenderness as well. She said not to worry , it's normal, and it's just tender from all the growing and stretching that's been going on. I felt very reassured and a week or so after that the tenderness went away.

Your uterus is constantly strecthing so yes it is normal to have some slight pain.. and also you could be starting to have some Braxton hicks contraction too. But if it is getting to the point of tears, call your doctor and let them know what you are experiencing. Good luck.

Just try to remember that your most sensitive organ is STRETCHING and growing like crazy to accommodate this little creature. Though you might want to prepare for the joint pain - and that tends to hurt a bit more

that is also pretty normal, i get those little pains all the time it is called round ligament pains, its just the ligaments stretching and making room for you little bundle to grow. it can get pretty painful but it should be nothing to worry about. if it gets too bad then you would want to consult your ob. good luck
