Im 36 years old. And yes, I've been home raising children. At one time I was very concerned with how I looked and wore. But over the years I will admit, I have become more laxed with this issue. How do I change my style, or lack of it? I'm 5 foot 2, any suggestions on the types of clothes I should be wearing? Or a store where I can start? I would like to make a change but have no where to begin. My husband is taking me on a cruise for our anniversary and I would like to dress nicely and classy. Any suggestions? Help!

ps. right now my wardrobe consists of jeans, capris, a couple of sweater twin sets, and casual shirts (not t-shirts). I am a few pounds overweight (Have lost 8 pounds in the last month and working on this, by starting an exercise routine and healthier eating habits) Currently I weigh 135, and have a small stomach pooch and carry most of my weight in my hips and theighs.

Congratulations on losing the 8 lbs. From what you stated it sounds like your wardrobe is not so bad. You have a combination of items that can be matched up. I would go with simple dresses (nothing too short). Here's a few links to my some of my favorite stores. There prices are quite reasonable and I think you can find some nice cruise wear. Have fun shopping!

I think that you should try Macy's for clothing for your cruise. They should have styles that suit you in their Petite department. JC Penney's or Kohl's should also for more casual wear during the cruise. I would look at the displays in the Petite section and go from there.

Take a nice formal dress for the cruise and some nice casual outfits (shorts, pants, capris) and then some semi-formal outfits (casual dresses).

for the cruise, hit Christopher and Banks for clothing. I have no idea what your style is now and what your looking for but I suggest a day at the mall.

Try Ann Taylor Loft. It's one of my favorites. Also, try Express.
