how common is it to miss a period when on the microgynon 30 pill. iv been on it for nearly 3 years and i my period is now 11 days late.

i have taken a test but it was negative. dont always take the pill as often as i should but this has never happened before.

when i have sex with my boyfriend we only put the condom on right at the end. we dont often have unprotected sex, but do.

i missed some pills in my last pack but didnt continue taking another pack because this was already my second pack in a row. i did have unprotected sex with my bf two days after my last pill in the pack.

how long after a missed pill does the body release an egg? and what happens to the egg (if one is released) when you continue taking the pill?

im not too clear on how the cycle works when on the pill!!!!!

as it has been said a lot on here you can get faulse negative results from home tests, for you to be 11 days late may not be a problem normally when you are on the pill if you take it everyday and do not forget or miss any pills, you can just simply miss periods or have them after you start your next packet.

however... you say that you have not been taking it reqular and even if you put the comdom on before he ejaculates fully this does not mean that he didnt let a little slip earlier without knowing it - this is a medical fact, before a full ejaculation there is almost always a small one which you can get prenant from.

go to the docs and have a test, it is very possible that you are pregnant..

good luck

I'm not clear either how the body works exactly when taking the pill BUT I do have a friend who conceived her 1st child while taking the pill. Contraception is never 100%. It is possible, so if in any question you may be pregnant stop taking the pills as they could damage the foetus & take a pregnancy test. If it is neg but you are still in question go to your doc who can carry out a blood test. These are sensitive tests which can detect pregnancy very early (before a home test could). All the best!

It really isn't common to miss a period if you are on the pill. I was on microgynon for over 10 years and never missed a period. It always came like clockwork.
If you get pregnant when you are on the pill, your periods will stop.
It sounds like you could be pregnant especially if you missed a few pills. How your cycle works when you miss pills depends on what stage of your packet you missed them. But missing pills shouldn't delay a period, it would make it come early if anything.
You should do another test.

I had been on this same pill for years hunni and I know have a 6 yr old. Don't mean to scare you but if you have been missin pills ( I had too when I fell pregnant ) you could be pregnant. You defo should have had your period if you weren't!

Make sure you are testing your first 'pee' in the morning or better still go to a family planning centre or your GP for a test.

If like me you have not taken the pill correctly you will have to face the consequences hunni - I did.....

The last pill in the pack were not important anyway! The test was negative and I do not beleive you are pregnant! But if still worried wait 7 days and take another! I do not think you should be worried at this point!!!

in the process the 1st 2-3 years of your era, that is going to likely be strange. that is common. do no longer concern, the 1st time I have been given my era, i did no longer get it returned until 6 months later. that is strange given which you're youthful and becoming. you're at puberty and your hormonal cycle hasn't set often yet. To be pregnant, you desire sperm from a male to combine which includes your egg on your uterus. provided that has no longer befell, you're one hundred% no longer pregnant.

Just so that you know for future reference, sperm is present even before he puts it in you.... So what you two did was not really safe at all...... You must use a condom from start to finish....

if you are at all worried then go to your gp and explain the situation. he should send you for a blood test which will show whether you are pregnant or not.
