I lived in Germany for several years and whenever I went home I always brought wine as gifts and souvinirs. Germany produces some really great wines, especially white (ie rieslings) that are sometimes difficult to get overseas because the Germans dont export a lot of wine. They also make some great desert wines like spatburgander or eiswine. They come in beautiful bottles with labels written in old German script. Excellent for laying down, displaying and of course drinking!

A beer stein! They are traditional to Germany, decorative and you don't have to be a beer drinker to enjoy the beauty of these. Sure we have replicas here in America - but the defining note is - yours would actually BE a German beer-stein.

People usually buy those little candle things that make the fan turn. Very cool to watch and they come in a ox so you can transport small ones in your luggage.

Assuming there is no issue with age and things...a beer stein with German words on it. Shouldn't be too expensive.
