At least nothing is something. If that person said nothing then I would be upset

I would be annoyed that this person had the nerve to call me that and would wonder what it is about themselves that they were trying to defend. People who resort to such nastiness have deep wounds and feel like they have to lash out and hurt others to amuse themselves (but don't feel sorry for them, they still have choices and they're extremely rude and nasty). Sometimes the person is just a spoiled brat who has honestly been raised to think that their expectations of the world are the most important thing ever and no one else can match them. Because you don't fit the mold, they feel the need to let you know. In that case, they are ignorant and spoiled. So just consider the source and remember that most of the b.s. we all encounter from other people has to do with THEIR issues, not ours! (it only becomes an issue to us when we internalize their stupid comments and start acting insecure because of them)

Laugh it off even if it does make you feel bad.
It is better not to let people know that they can get toy ou by name calling. That way next time they will not say anything.

Depending from who, I would ask what they're worth.
