Depends on what you're looking for. Charlotte and Denver are pretty similar politically and culturally but they are different in jobs and leisure.

Tonight it is supposed to be about 7 degrees below zero and right now it's snowing for the 8th time in 6 weeks. We've gotten about 63 inches of snow (the average is 61 in a season) and our snowiest months--March and April--are yet to come. But the weather is generally more mild than balmy, muggy Charlotte. Charlotte is more business-oriented than Denver and it's a lot cheaper as far as cost of living goes. Denver's got a decent economy, though it's a little more expensive.

Charlotte is also the Southern Atlantic Seaboard while Denver is Midwestern--on the cusp of the Great West. So while they are both fairly conservative they are also a little different as far as attitudes--Denver's a little more folksy and reserved while Charlotte is known for Southern Hospitality.

I love Denver and was born and raised here (the suburbs, to be exact). I'm sure you'd like it here but you'd probably like Charlotte, too. It all depends on what you're looking for, of course. But both cities are alike so just decide what you are into for recreation and business (colorado is big on the tech sector) and what you'd prefer for weather.

If you decide Denver's the place let me be the first to welcome you to the Mile High City. Otherwise, come and visit sometime.

(And if you do move to Denver, for God's sake, look to the suburbs. A lot of jobs are moving there and the city of Denver is just bizarre.)

Actually charlotte is not home to NC State, that would be across the state....
but actually, I have lived in Charlotte on 3 different occasions for 5.5 of the last 9 years. Also been to Denver and have family out there. I even struggle with which one Id rather live in, but One thing I will say is not to take old comments about places in to account. One major thing I have seen is that Charlotte has continuously progressed forward while Denver has remained stagnant. Charlotte has added a New baseball stadium downtown, the epicenter, expanded the NC music Factory Strip, new neighborhoods all over, widened roads, added a Lightrail, etc. Denver seems to be stuck in this "if it ain t broke, we ain t fixin IT or addin. more" mentality. Both are nice places, both have every activity you could possibly want. People always rave about Denver s mountains, but they really aren t Denver s, actually they are quite far from Denver. you can actually get to the mountains in NC as fast as in Denver. I actually think charlotte has amore activities and a more diversified level of them. Denver has a lot to do.too, but lacks some things that charlotte has easier access too like fishing, beaches, etc.
I don t think you can ultimately run a fair comparison with these two cities. I think I should come down to the people, climate and atmosphere you are looking for.

I've lived in Charleston, SC and Denver. I'm sure you'd be happy in both NC and CO, but I'd say move to Denver. If you're from the South, then it's an awesome experience to live in Colorado for a while. The summers are warm and the winters are cold, but only to a point where you still have fun. When it snows in a lot of places, people get pissed, but when it snows here, people are happy (for sking). I've been here for three years and even with the snow we've had this winter, I'm still happy to be here. After a white Christmas with me and my family (visiting from LA), there's not much that could convince me that moving to Colorado was a bad choice.

If you like heat and humidity, then Charlotte's for you! If you like heat without humidity, plus a little snow in the winter (not like this winter, though!), then come on over to Denver. The cost of living would be similar - not the lowest, but certainly not the highest. Denver has an excellent quality of life, with an amazing number of recreational activities and friendly populace. The school systems are excellent. The scenery is excellent. I've lived many places, but Denver is where I want to stay!

I have lived in Colorado (up in the mountains) and currently I live on the coast of NC. I'm not a fan of either city but if it were my choice it would be Denver. The cost of living in Charlotte (my father lives there) is lower than Denver but in my opinion so is the quality of life. It's just my opinion. I would suggest spending several days in both cities before you make your decision.

These are both wonderful places. I am a Denver native and moved to NC a bit over a year ago. I have found happiness in both places. Thats up to you...
"They" say there are mountains in NC... nothing as majestic as Colorado though! I am enjoying weekends to the beach.
Wishing you happiness where ever you land in this next adventure!

Denver is the play where in fact the shine may sun 300 days of year. Denver is a successful ethnic scene, varied neighborhoods, and normal elegance combine for the world's most magnificent playground and with hotelbye you will see ways to get there. Denver is the spot for: World-class attractions, natural wonders, thriving arts scene, a large number of modern and acclaimed restaurants and nightlife options galore. Denver definitely got it all. In Denver you can look at the Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Highway. The Mount Evans Highway is really a periodic street which is shut all through the wintertime months

Dear Sir,
Move to Charlotte, NC and keep up with ACC basketball. Despite the fact that Charlotte is the home of NC State please route for Wake Forest men's basketball. This season I have been getting sick and tired of the ACC refereeing. They have been doing nothing but favoring teams such as Duke and North Carolina. Coach Rick Majerus feels the same way that I do about the ACC refereeing. But if you go to see any Wake Forest games in Winstom Salem, NC you would have a great time. I spend a lot of time with the team. At one game while in the locker room at half because the team was down by thirteen after the staff said all they wanted to say I told the team to beat the ******* **** out of these opponents. The team won by four. But after the game a few of the player were making one statement and that was that I turned the game around for them.

Sincerely,

Scott Prosser
