Well, if you manage to get into Windows during the logon, replicate the issue on the screen then press the button on your keyboard marked "Print Screen" or "Prnt Scrn" once.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint to open Microsoft's standard picture editor. In it, go to Edit > Paste for the image to be pasted into Paint. Finally go to File > Save As to save the image to a location on your computer.

Sent this resultant image to the company.

However, if the login problem consists of you not actually getting into Windows, this method naturally won't work :(

A couple ways of doing this; use the Print Screen button - usually near the top right hand side of the keyboard. This places the whole screen into the systems clipboard. You can then Paste this into many programs such as MS Paint, Word etc

This will most likely be your best option for capturing an event like logging in, but you may want to capture part of a screen, or maybe just one particular dialog box, or window. Its a pain using print screen, pasting it into MS Paint then cutting the area you want, then using another program to convert it to a .gif or .png format etc. It is much better to get a third party program.

A lot of expensive paint packages normally have a granular control for screen capturing, but there are a lot of free ones out there too.

For example I use Screen Hunter (free; get it from www.wisdom-soft.com ) , and it can hook into Print Screen or you can assign it any other hotkey, but can capture any rectangular area, or Active Window, or Full Screen. Yuu can save as bmp gif oir jpg, and have it copy to clipboard or straight to a file. Its not the only free utility out there, there are many others that are just as good.

PS. If the error dialog/screen you want to capture appears as the desktop is loading or after the desktop loads you may be able to capture it, but if the error appears without it letting you log in at all, then print screen or these capture programs may not have yet loaded yet for it to work, so it depends on how you get your error.

Hope this helps

Well if the above answer didn't work you can take some pictures with your digital camera ( If you have one and it is enough fast to take a picture from your screen)
