Two of my daughters were very early crawlers and crawled at 5 months but were trying around 2 months of age. And all of my babies from about 4 weeks on loved to stand on their feet. All my family members and my husbands family told me not to let them do it because it will cause them to bow legged but they are now 6 1/2, 4 1/2, and 2 1/2 and none of them are bow legged.

My daughter was the same way with the standing thing, I had her in an exersaucer at 3 months. As for the crawling that is awesome my daughter hates tummy time so I think she is going to walk before she crawls.

As long as you aren't trying to force him to do anything he's fine. My daughter did that from when she was about 2 weeks and she crawled around the end of her 6th month and could pull up then too. I wouldn't worry as long as he's trying. You can't make him do anything anyway. I think it's normal. I think it's great. He's a little overachiever!! LOL

Yes, its normal. My son is 4 months and has been trying to crawl since 2 months. He is finally getting up on his knees and rocking. He loves to stand also. Everyone told me not to let him stand so much as it would cause him to be bowlegged. I talked to his doctor about that and she said it was fine to let him stand and that it wouldn't hurt him.
Congrats on the new baby!

I've heard of babies starting to crawl early but 2 months is outrageous!...lol...He'll probably be up and about and you'll be chasing him around soon. I don't think its bad for them but have you asked his doc?

Certainly that is normal. He is practising for the real thing. He is developing and growing as he should be.
