I've travelled from London Gatwick to Calgary and it took 9 1/2 hours. The flight path took us directly north over Manchester and Glasgow. Given that Manchester is about 50 minutes north of Gatwick, you're going to be looking at 8 1/2 to 9 hours, depending on the wind speed.

It's 23 hours (without a stop/stop-over).My friend goes there a lot and says it's a boring flight-she sleeps for as long as she can to pass time.

You have not said how many stops, and where you intend to make them.
However, flight time from MAN to LHR is 1hr 5mins, flight time direct from LHR(London Heathrow) to say SYD (Sidney) is between 21 and 24 hrs, depending on head/tailwinds
