Any grocery store sells static guard that is safe for your clothes. You just spray it on whatever you are wearing and it will stop the static and the clinging to your body. It's great stuff and it works.

Static is coming from the dryer, use a dryer sheet or two. Or it's coming from your body, use a dryer sheet or two when drying. If you hang dry the trousers, use fabric softner in the final rinse cycle. You can use the spray static guard. Also, if you are wearing nylons or socks, put hand lotion on your legs. That will help stop the build up of static.

it looked for all the world as if u were going to say
rub them too quickly!
i suppose the response would have been it's ur own damned fault!!!

ok straight answer, it is to do with the material.
some people also actually produce a lot of static. the reasons are not precisely defined, it just happens.
i went to the supermarket the other week and got two sickeningly large shocks off a trolley!
just thought i'd tell u that after the first part of my answer!
