I am trying to start a band but finding members who arn't already in a band is tough in Adrian, Michigan! Any one interested or have a tip on how to find bandmates?

My biggest tip is to MAKE SURE you have people in your band with the same musical goals and aspirations as you have. Otherwise, members will leave when they fall in love or get that dream job or decide they rather be a dentist instead. I would take an ok player willing to do the hard work and stick through all the ups and downs of having a band then someone excellent who never shows up and quits at the drop of a hat. Put ads in your local paper and on line. Go to some of your favorite local music venues and talk to people and network, the people that go to these places often know musicans and could probably put you onto some good leads. Good Luck!

We use a local as like show n tell newspaper word of mouth.
it's hard getting a band together. Which my is a gospel band.But still we have tried & been through severl people. They don't realize the time & effort that goes into playing music. I made up flyers ask music shop grocery strored depertment stores. Ran
adds in the paper. Just let them know serious & deacated only
repley. You'll likely go through alot before it startes coming togther

try posting on craigslist.com or myspace (send out bulletins)
also u can put fliers up at local places
