well i am also an actress and there are st some points onstage when i do feel like laughing. my director has taught me this and it really wrks - when u feel like laughing press your thumb nail into your middle finger and it will hurt and u wouldn't burst out laughing and embarass yourself.

best of luck

Well, whenever i'm on stage and have a sudden fit of giggles, I usually improvise by turning round, maybe miming to do something, and when my back is to the audience I take a deep breath and just relax. That usually helps, but if not, just try and imagine you're in an empty room. OR, you could imagine something really bad has happened, like your dog has just died, your favourite shop has closed down, you fell out with a friend etc, it's depressing but really sobers you up. Well, it works for me at least :)

What the devil is a
"comedianist theater?" Rhetorical. All of thes epostings are so funny, as everyone thinks they are really something up there on stage. They all call themselves actresses and comedians. Oh brother! Sound slike there are a lot of desperate wannabes out there.
