Spam-Mailbot Please help?

my McAfee hold this trojan and when i tried to take an action all actions was denied (cant delete, cant quarantine and cant clean) and its followed by a message ( because file is write-protected or in use) in addition the trojan file extension is .exe so i am so afraid is this a viruse and i need a format or just a trojan please help me ergently . thx for all

if your'e using Internet Explorer Browser GET RID OF THAT THING

Download the FirefoxMozilla and use that!!

First search the Google for that specific trogan and how to DELETE it from computer. If you got problems, so do thousands of others who know how to fix it. There will surely be instructions on there just how to do it. It will involve a REGISTRY CHANGE.


Use Spybot to Identify the trojan. Then FIX on there. Reboot your computer and see if its still there. If it still is there on Spybot, Then change the + to minus and find its location in the Registry. In the registry click on the REGISTRY FILE It will appear as highlighted in black. Use that info from Google Search on Deletion . For example on DSO EXPLOIT, the instructions are , one would RENAME the 1004 file to 1003 and REBOOT Then use Spybot to see if its gone. It will then be GONE

Use something like Proxomitron to mask your browser signature in the future.

I had a similar situation the other day, couldn't delete, move or quarantine. I shut down and rebooted, then closed all programs that run on start-up.

When I then reran my anti-virus, it was able to delete the infected files.
