tamil kids are brought up in an environment that is conscious of culture and manners.

i generally find that tamil kids are not aggressive. they very shy and polite. you cant stereotype the tamil people.

they are generally crazy about cinema. They lack a sense of assertiveness and aggression.

but that depends on where the kids grow up.

As a tamilian i have cousins in bombay who are more north indian than north indians.

i do cousins in london who cant speak a single word of tamil.

kids in other countries grow up to be different. But that also depends on atmosphere inside the house.

My aunt and uncle abroad dont speak in tamil and so the kids grew up without knowing the mother tongue.

At the end of the day it depends on how your parents bring you up

All Indian kids born in America are considered ABCD which is American Born Confused Desi!!!!!

It doesn't matter where you are born. It is what you make of yourself as you grow, what values you adapt and follow that is important. I am Telugu living in America with kids born here. I teach them the values and culture of our Indian country as well as the good things they can get out of being in this country.

BTW, Kamal, are you living here in America? All that you mentioned is not necessarily true. There is a lot of discrimination and racism. Look around you in India, we are the richest where culture is...there are tons of cultures in India alone and we accept and learn to live with one another, often eating in each other's houses etc. But here, you are expected to seek permission even to go to your mother's house. It's not a heaven here you know.
But there is a lot of good here that is lacking in India and there is a lot of good in India that is lacking here. We can learn from each other. It can only happen when we accept who we are and are happy at where you are...all other extra opportunties are added blessings which will come in one way or another.
