Perhaps because most Muslims actually follow the teachings of the Qur'an about peace and respect.
Only a minority of fanatics hate their fellow men, just like Christian fanatics during the Crusades.
BTW, infidel means someone who doesn't believe in God. It has nothing to do with Jews or Christians.

its quite disturbing to hear that so many young people are becoming radicalised. i have heard stories to back this up (and they were not all from the media.). Perhaps encouraging people to use their own language when they come here is wrong - they wont feel the need to mix just with their own if they all spoke English. Should this be an immigration ruling - if you don't speak English you cant live here?

actually, muslims dont want to live with us, they will tolerate us until they rule. Ask the leaders of CAIR in the USA what their ultimate goal is: to rule the USA by shariah law. To those who suggest most muslims live by the teachings about love and peace please quote me one message about peace with your neighbors and i will find you 20 statements in the quran that contradict that and abrogate that. See 9:5, one of the last written "revelations" that suggest muslims chop off the heads fingers and toes of Unbelievers. Are these spiritual heads and fingers? Unbelievers includes the jews and christians some say are not included. after all Christians can remain christians as long as we"dont speak of a trinity" that leaves only jehovah witnesses on the good list.
And by the way the crusades were a response to 600 years of rape pillaging, enslavement and conquest of muslims against mainly christian and jewish settlements throughout asia, north africa and into europe. It is also responsible for the virtual extinction of zorastianism, the former , national religion of Persia(Iran) and pushed its remnants into india.Islam has never been a religion of peace.
Unbelievers have a 3 fold obligation under Islamic authority1. submit and convert or 2. pay the Jizya tax in submission or 3. death. "i will be made victorious with terror" the words of muhammad himself, "Allah said: a prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. a slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. muhammad , you craved the desires of this world and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion" (Ishaq:327)
"fight those who do not believe in Allah and in the last day, who do not forbid that which Allah and his messenger have declared forbidden and who do not practice the religion of truth, cursing those who have received the scriptures, fight them until they all pay the Jizya and feel themselves humiliated." (9:29)
If you think the fighting is spiritual then see Bukhari(most authentic hadith in sunni Islam) v5b59N512, v4B52N50, V4B53N386,V4B52N270 quran (8:12, and 9:5, 33:60)
"The messenger said: I have been commanded to fight against people until they testify that there is no God but Allah, and they believe in me(that) I am the messenger and in all that i have brought(the sunnah/ahadith). Can we feel the love here? this is not prooftexting, these exhortations are stated and restated throughout the quran and sunnah. add the dimension of abrogation(Nashk) where Allah conveniently allows for previous revelations to be "improved upon" and you realize that any exhortations to tolerate other religions is abrogated by the latest revelations which happen to be the verses of Chapter 9 which include the verse of the sword 9:5.
the sunnah was written by zealous muslims who reveled in the butchery of muhammed. Lets not kid ourselves, any moments of peace between muslims and unbelievers are only opportunities for muslims to regroup rearm, and gather more "martyrs",
Muhammad allows for deception and the breaking of treaties as long as it benefits the propogation of islam.
"lo, fight them until all opposition ends and the only religion is islam." (8:39)

who said they want to live with us . they're just taking over slowly and very surely. and given another couple of hundred years or so it will be our descendants that will be kicked out of what is to become an islamic society. that incidentally is not a racial answer. just what i believe as a realist.
