A library is a collection of functions or classes, that is used by another library or executable program. You can build your own library or use an existing one.
These librarys can be of various types. There are dll librarys that can be made using many languages; dot net assemblies that are librarys in dot net; lib files that are written in C or C++ and requires header files to use.
